How it works

From the bag to the water

The net stays clipped on, so there's nothing to rig. Tie it off, pump it up from the boat, swim. Set-up time is being confirmed in prototype trials.

The pump kit

Pump it up without leaving the boat

Both fill points sit side by side at the boat-end corner of the float. A 12 V high-pressure pump stays on board, clipped to the boat battery, and a 5 m extension hose runs to a two-way selector valve at the fill points.

  • Turn the selector to the deck chamber, pump to pressure, then turn it to the float chamber
  • The pump stops by itself at the set pressure
  • Move the hose to the pump's deflate port to suck the air back out at pack-down
  • Only one chamber is open at a time, so they stay separate

Pump kit: optional extra, $249 inc. GST (indicative).

BOAT battery 12 V pump 5 m hose two-way selector valve fill point 1 deck, fill point 2 float SWIM AREA net stays clipped on

Step by step

Setting up

  1. Anchor and switch off

Anchor where you'd normally swim, in at least 3.5 m of water so the net hangs clear of the bottom. Engine off, keys out, props clear.

  2. Tie off first

Lower the rolled pool, net still attached, off the swim platform. Tie the deck's two tie-off rings to your stern cleats before you unroll, so it can't drift away.

  3. Unroll on the water

Unroll the float away from the boat with the fill points at your end. The net hangs underneath as it goes.

  4. Connect the pump

Use the manual pump supplied with every Sea Pool, or clip the optional electric pump kit to the boat battery and run the 5 m hose to the selector valve, connected to both fill points.

  5. Pump the deck, then the float

Turn the selector to 1 (deck) and run the pump until it stops at pressure. Turn it to 2 (float) and repeat. Close both fill valves and take the hose off.

  6. Check and swim

Check the net is hanging square with the lead line all round, put a fender between the deck and the transom, then step onto the deck, sit and slide in.

Step by step

Packing up

  1. Everyone out

Swimmers out and back aboard. Leave the pool tied off.

  2. Deflate with the pump

Move the hose to the pump's deflate port. Turn the selector to each chamber in turn and let the pump draw the air out.

  3. Fold, roll and stow

Lift the lead line up onto the float, fold the sides in, then roll from the far end towards the fill points. The net stays clipped on. Untie and lift it aboard into its bag.

At home: rinse the float and net with fresh water and let them dry before long-term storage.
