Is it shark-proof?

No product can honestly promise that. It's a physical barrier: a stainless-wire-core net, 2 metres deep on every side with a full net floor, that keeps larger marine life outside the swim area and keeps swimmers together. Always supervise, and follow SharkSmart advice.

Is it safe for kids?

The mesh is 80 mm squares with a clear opening of about 75 mm, below the 89 mm head-entrapment range used in the Australian playground standard, and the net hangs square. Along the deck, the net hangs from the inside edge so no one can get under it. Kids still need an adult watching, with the engine off.

Which size should I get?

The 6 x 5 suits 6 to 8 swimmers and seats 3 adults on the deck. The 5 x 4 suits 4 to 6 and the 4 x 4 suits 3 to 5, and both of their decks seat 2. Tell us your boat when you join the list and we'll help you choose.

Will it work with my trailer boat?

Yes. Every size is available with the outboard deck: a 1,000 mm seating deck with a 45° notch that wraps around a single outboard, so the deck sits snug against your transom and the motor stays outside the net. Tell us your boat make, length and motor on the pre-order form and we'll confirm the fit before your pool is built. Twin outboards, side-mounted auxiliary motors and transom ladders may need a custom layout. The engine must be off, with the kill cord removed, before anyone swims.

How do we get in and out?

Step across from your swim platform or transom onto the seating deck, sit on its inside edge and slide in. To get out, use the two grab handles on the deck, or clip on the rope boarding ladder supplied with every Sea Pool and climb up onto the deck.

Will it keep out jellyfish?

No. The mesh is sized for larger marine life and swimmer safety, so small jellyfish and stingers pass through. An optional stinger liner can be purchased to fit inside the net for stinger season, or wear a stinger suit.

How long does it take to set up?

We're timing set-up during the prototype trials and will publish the results here, along with a step-by-step video guide to setting up your Sea Pool.

How heavy is it?

Estimated float weights are 24 to 30 kg for the 6 x 5, 20 to 25 kg for the 5 x 4 and 18 to 22 kg for the 4 x 4. Those are float-only figures. The 2.0 m net adds about 7.6 kg on the 6 x 5, 5.7 kg on the 5 x 4 and 4.8 kg on the 4 x 4, plus the lead line, and everything rolls up together into one mesh bag. Final weights will be confirmed in trials.

Can I use it off a jetty or pontoon?

Yes, where local rules allow. Tie the deck's rings to the jetty or pontoon the same way you would to a boat.

Where is it made?

Designed in Port Lincoln, South Australia. The netting is imported in bulk (no one makes it in Australia), then every net is stitched and hung by hand here. The float is made to our drawings by a specialist inflatables manufacturer. Every pool is finished, checked and packed in Port Lincoln.

Can I get a shallower net?

Yes. Every size comes with the standard 2.0 m net, or you can choose a 1.0 m shallow net instead. It suits younger kids and shallower anchorages: you need about 2.5 m of water under the pool rather than 3.5 m. It has the same steel-core netting and full net floor. Pick your net depth on the pre-order form.

Is there a bigger Sea Pool?

Yes. The Sea Pool XL is 8 x 6 m, with about 42 m² of clear swim area and a 6 m seating deck. It's made to order, and we only build a limited number each year alongside the standard run. Pick "XL 8 x 6 m (made to order)" on the pre-order form and we'll come back with a price and a build slot.

Can you build a custom size?

Yes. Custom builds are available: a different length or width, a deeper net, a seating deck at both ends, or your own colours. Like the XL, custom builds are limited each year. Pick "Custom size or layout" on the pre-order form, tell us your boat, and we'll come back with a quote.

Is there a shark deterrent add-on?

We're developing Deterrent Pods as an optional extra. They're an extra layer on top of the steel-core net, not a replacement for it or for supervision. They won't go on sale until our own testing is done, and we'll publish the results. Tick the box on the pre-order form to register interest.

Do I have to take the net off to pack it away?

No. The net stays clipped to the float all the time, so there's nothing to rig. You lift the lead line onto the float, fold and roll it all up together.

What pump do I need?

Every Sea Pool comes with a manual high-pressure pump, so you can inflate it straight out of the bag. For faster, easier set-up, you can add the Sea Pools pump kit: an AC/DC high-pressure electric pump that inflates and deflates, running from your boat's 12 V battery, mains power or its own clip-in battery. Set the pressure and it stops automatically when the pool is full.

What colours can I get?

Ten standard colours: Aqua, Ocean Blue, Navy, Lime, Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange, Coral Red, Sand, White and Charcoal. Custom colours are available on request. See them all on the Sea Pool page.

How much is the deposit?

A flat $1,000 on any size, fully refundable until production of your batch starts. The first 50 deposits lock in early-bird pricing. The balance is paid before dispatch. The full details are in our pre-order terms.

When can I get one?

We're aiming to deliver the first production run in February 2027, once prototype sea trials are done. We build in batches, so join the pre-order list. When deposits open you'll get the confirmed delivery window and first access to early-bird pricing: $3,490 for the 4 x 4, $3,990 for the 5 x 4 and $5,499 for the 6 x 5, against RRPs of $4,290, $4,790 and $6,499. Early-bird pricing is limited to the first 50 deposits across all sizes; after that, RRP applies.
